Understanding ZBrush – NoiseMaker

BadKing Needs Your Support.

BadKing has been steadily growing over the last year but still has a long way to go, which is why we have introduced our Reward System by sharing the ‘Embed Code’ and ‘Share Link’ on the right.

In order for the site to grow we need to start offsetting some of the bandwidth and labour costs required to run the site. Ways to support the site include Purchasing Items from the product section, making a donation via PayPal, purchasing Download Points or simply spreading the word.

    Excellent video. I’m thinking that you could use the surface texture as maps for the final output and save in high res. Now I’ve got another tool in my belt for creating background pieces.

    valiant effort to make clear one of the more muddled areas of teh ZBrush UI designs for masochists. if i watch it a couple more times, i think i might get close to understanding it, which thanks to you is closest so far 🙂

    I still get that inflation error when I apply the noise map – Could you explain a little more about that “sweet spot”?

    Why is it that some of the preset noises in the spotlight thing – their graphs are mental in that some are WAAAAY off the grid but they still work (0_o)

      It is a delicate procedure and it depends on the size of your mesh in some instances. I like to refer to the ‘sweet spot’ as a starting point, I find that if I stay near the centre of the Curve Editor I usually get pretty good results. All in all, it’s about experimentation and trial and error. I wish I had a better answer for you.

From the way you present the process step by step, to how you show every single tool and technique, to the voice which is one of the most suitable ones for a video tutorial I’ve heard for a long time, you deserve congratulations for your great work!
